Ironwood Safety Course

 

Youths between the ages of 10 and 18 years old may operate a snowmobile without adult or other supervision if they have completed a snowmobile safety-training course. Youths who do not hold this certificate are subject to the same restrictions as children under the age of 10 years. The State of New York recommends that all operators complete a recognized snowmobile operation course of instruction. Most insurance companies will give you a 5 to 10% discount on your snowmobile insurance.


Course Dates:

  • November 18th
  • December 16th
  • January 20th


Course Contents

Course covers snowmobile safety, common emergencies, dangers, appropriate dress, common maintenance.  Snowmobile laws, trail markers and signage, hand signals, club and organizations information.


Course Structure

  • 6 Hours long
  • 8 am to 4 pm
  • Registration at 8 am
  • Class begins at 9 am
  • Lunch Break at 12 pm (Bring a bag lunch)
  • Live demonstrations
  • Videos
  • Safety Certificate handed out at 3:30
