Notice: To all NYSSA Members and To All snowmobilers and Snowmobile Related Businesses.

From: Jeff Johnson, President; New York State Snowmobile Association

SUBJECT: Yellowstone National Park Environmental Impact Statement and Park Closure

The International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association has contacted NYSSA and all the other state snowmobile associations concerning the final EIS proposal for Yellowstone National Park. The plan is to close the park off to all recreational Snowmobiling within the next two years. The National Park Service has acted to close the park even after polls show most Americans want their Parks leftfor recreational use and not just for a certain small radical environmental few.

This plan affects all Americans not just our friends and relatives out west. What happens there will eventually make it here. This environmental assault has already begun here in New York. It is Federal land now and the next is state lands. Our Adirondack State Park  is already a battleground. Who knows our private lands could be next. The Greens are working overtime to eliminate all recreational freedoms. Do not be fooled.

I would like to urge all of you to contact the National Park Service at http://www.nps.gov/planning. Draft and send e-mail and do it today. Tell them you are not happy with their plan for OUR LAND!! Also, take a moment and send that same draft by snail mail too. THIS is important not just as a snowmobiler but also as an American. Also sign the petition on http://www.petitiononline.com. This will also help our friends in the west.

I will continue to update you with info from ACSA and ISMA as it becomes available. The deadline to comment to the National Park Service is October 31,2000. Before the elections…

Written comments can be sent to Clifford Hawkes, National Park Service, 12795 W Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80228 or submitted through the National Park Service Website at yell_winter_use. No Faxes will be accepted!!!

The NPS EIS document is available on the Internet at the National Park service website now. Copies can also be obtained at local libraries. Written requests can also be made to the National Park Service for full copies of the document. Contact Clifford Hawkes at the above address.

IT IS NOW OR NEVER FOR YELLOWSTONE AND US.

I would also like to remind all snowmobilers and off road users to get out and vote November 7th, 2000. Vote for the candidates that support us. Remember Clinton and Gore are the ones that are paying back the radical environmentalists for the last two elections. And our New York State Senate race is also important.

Mrs. Clinton has donated monies to the radical environmental groups who want to close not only Yellowstone but all our national forests and Parks.

Remember Get out and Vote.
